Located in the San Frediano district of Florence near the River Arno this small theatre (capacity approximately 140) started life as a small parish hall at the beginning of the 20th century. It developed into a theatre in the 1950's only to be devastated by the 1966 floods after which it remained closed for nearly 20 years until it reopened in 1985.
In 2008 the hall and foyer furnishings were completely renovated including the installation of modern padded armchairs covered in red material which gives the theatre a striking appearance.
We saw a concert for Ukraine there and the acoustics and view of the stage were very good. Airconditioning also worked well as it was exceedingly hot outside.
