If you have a car this is a must visit from Cortona a 10 minute drive. Free parking with some trees for shade and free public restrooms . The church inside has a beautiful blue ceiling. Up the hill, 10 minute walk steep but doable...More

The Basilica di Santa Margherita is one of the most beautiful churches. It reminds me of the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome, but much smaller. From Cortona you can hike to the basilica. It is quite steep with only a couple of...More

You can take a car to this church. We walked from the bottom and hiked up. Be warned its a fair trek up if you do it our way but you do see the shops and eat at La Grotta! It is light and airy...More

The relatively bland exterior belies what lies within. A very beautiful church, with the added bonus of very nice views from the grounds. The bigger bonus, however, is the large parking area; you park free and there's always room. You can even use this as...More

Gorgeous church in an absolutely lovely town. We could go back over& over again. It’s a must for an Italian vacation for all ages. Don’t miss it.

After the steep climb we were rewarded by entering this beautiful Neo Gothic church dedicated to Saint Margaret of Cortona. The artworks inside are beautiful.

Such a beautiful church. I was expecting a small church that was not worth the walk up but I was wrong. Beautiful and totally worth the trip, the ceiling and art work did not disappoint

Walked down from the market square to see the fantastic views from the wall. To the left a museum and to the right this marvel. Wandered around in awe, exquisite interior with lots of niches, alcoves, paintings and fresco. Reading its past and development over...More

We had a wonderful walk up here from the center of town, which is not really very far away. Great views down to the valley and out to the surrounding town, a nice interior with some interesting art.
