This is something you just have to see! We were there just before sunset, which adds to the light over the wide valley. From Lago Trasimeno to Monte Amiata and Montepulciano!

Wandering around the City of Cortona - this view from Piazza Garibaldi is wonderful. You can see the Roman Roads (the straight ones!) lead in and out of the hilltop town and the view south towards Lake Trasimeno and Ossia is beautiful. Sunset is magical.

This is a viewing terrace at Cortona. Basically you park your car at lower level parking and take escalator up. Place offers excellent view to admire. There is also another interesting park that offers nice view also. Park is Parterre, which has been also open...More

Great views in the distance you might as well see the Lago Trasimeno which is very famous for being the setting of battle between the Romans and Hannibal. You can see a lot around from here.

This is a great place to view the all area, you can park outside of the city, and use the escalators to get there.

well worth a visit to this small but beautiful town. very peaceful and a good walk around the narrow streets up to the top for great views of the town and the countryside. recommended.
