A nice stop, but not much to see, at least not for massive history buffs. A smaller version of the Greek ampitheatre (almost) opposite.

The Odean in Troamina is amazing and what remains of an old amphitheater. Impressive remains and worth a photo. Located by legend the Santa Catriona church.

It’s smaller and not so famous like Ancient Greek Theatre, but it’s worth a visit. It’s located in the centre, behind Chiesa Caterina. It was discovered in the19.th century. We could go in for some minutes before closing time.

This would be a major attraction in most European cities but in Taormina it is surpassed by many other ancient buildings. Stop and look for a few minutes as you pass on your walking tour.

You would never know this was here, halfway up Corso Umberto where the street bends and up a small street on your left, it's sunken into the hillside and looks like a tiny ancient theatre. Reminded me of the amphitheatre in Chester as the other half is buried under a Catholic church and will of course never be excavated (!). A peaceful little place to contemplate life as we (once) knew it..

Not in the same league as the larger theatre but an interesting little space for free to spend a few minutes while out on a stroll.

I am glad that I saw the Odeon. But it will not crack the top 10 of things to see and do in Taormina.

You could almost miss this ruin, and if you do miss it you won’t have missed much.
From what I could see you could not actually go into walk around it. We just looked at it from the outside.

This is a very interesting ancient site. Discovered behind a church - it's a small theatre built during the Roman period. It's walls actually run underneath a nearby church and you can see those walls under the church floor.

Not quite in the same league as the ancient theatre, but a pleasant spot to visit as it is much quieter and free
