I have never watched a performance here, but this is one of my favorite places in the world. It is a hike and not at all mobility friendly, unfortunately, but it is a stunning beautiful site. Great view of the coast and Mount Etna.

This ancient theatre is like most theatres in Italy, but the view is unbeatable! It is amazing to think how people enjoyed the shows here while looking at the blue waters.

I was lucky enough to be staying right next door to this so got there as it opened in the morning before the queues started and while it was quiet and I could take photos without others spoiling the view. I would have liked to have the guided tour to learn more about it but had my 21 yr old son in tow who just wanted to whip round quickly! Perhaps I'll get to return one day. …
