Visited the Duomo di Siracusa 1 week after the Papa's visit.
Impresive pictures and ambiance, Impresive exterior too. There is a special room dedicated to Santa Lucia, do not miss the TV presenting a short movie of Sânta Lucia porcessione.
When in Sicily, you get your fair anount of churches! This one is on steiroids! On the big white piazza, in the old town of Syracuse, you can not miss it, and it has superb architecture inside and out!

The architecture is amazing with impressive artwork within. Be sure to cover up appropriately to respect the place although you will be given sheets/sarongs if not. Relatively cheap to go in and is a must do place in Ortigia.
