One of the first sites you come entering the island of Ortigia and the ruins of the temple at the end of pizza pancali quite surprising as you have these ruins surrounded by shops and people on benches enjoying the sun

Definitely for those who love old stones and are looking for archeological sites. What makes this site special is that it is right in the middle of a city, even adjoining Ortigia food market. An odd combination which makes it unexpected and therefore will make you stop to look at it. All Italy is full of these sites and since I am one of the old stones lovers, all the better. And as usual, in Ortigia exactly like in Venice, if it is beautiful by day, it is much more by night when everything becomes somehow kind of mysterious or ...even magical.…
