I'm not an expert in art or in religion. I just stayed inside this cathedral and held my breath. Worth a visit.

Santa Caterina is a fantastic example of Sicilian Baroque, the building predates that period, however. The interior is just breathtaking, Just to the right of the transept is a not to missed statue of Santa Caterina sculpted by Antonello Gagini in 1534.

Interesting mix of renaissance, baroque, and rococo styles that work well together. Very pretty and worth the €3 entrance. With your ticket you get a €1 discount at Church of Santa Maria dell' Ammiraglio

The level of detail for all the decorative work inside this church is captivating. The 3 euros would be worth it with some more info.

This really is a stunning over the top church with great art work. It really takes your breath away when you first see it. Take time to sit down and look around at the details in the artwork. Enjoy.
