This clock, attached to the church and locate din close proximity to the fountain is absolutely incredible. December is a quiet time, with not many people in the area, but stop and marvel at the clock, the zodiac face, the bells, the figures.. such craftsmanship....More

Messina Is a dirty, smelly, polluted, noisy city covered in graffiti which if it were any other place I would recommend not going there, but the astrological clock is so spectacular that you just have to see it. The ideal time is at midday -...More

A must see if you visit Messina. This is truly one-of-a-kind, unlike anything I have ever seen before in a bell tower.

Amazingly intricate clock tower where the lion roars 3 times, the rooster crows 3 times, the choir sings, the people move and so on and so on. The astrological clock moves as well. Inside the church is also worth visiting. Be there for NOON!

Make sure you go before 12.00 noon because that is when the action kicks off. The clock is quite impressive and the Cathedral next door, though not a must see, is reasonable. These two attractions are really the only things worth seeing in Messina so...More
