Made from dark lava stone and light limestone the striped effect is striking. A Phoenix on top represents the rebirth of the city after the destructive earthquake. It's a very long walk up the hill. You may not feel that it was worth it.

Oh, we made the long way walk trip to visit this place. There is a small place with bars (great gellato here) and a park behind the gate.

A gate in the city, you will see it in the end of the long street. I don't know if there is much more special about it.

At the beginning (or end) of the Via Garibaldi, you can find this lovely monument, walking from the Piazza del Duomo. Nice bars, shops and restaurants nearby.

A little bit of the way for the main square and uphill at the end of Via Garibaldi sits this sadly neglected arch. It's bordered on one side by an ugly car park and the archway itself is in need of some TLC. Still a...More

It's in a shadier area, and it is probably not worth going there for the gate unless it's just in your way.
