So many churches, cathedrals and monasteries in Catania ( and Sicily and Italy for that matter) in such a small area and this is another one. We met a wonderful young woman working there as a volunteer and got a fabulous tour of the church...More

It is easy to mix up the church and the cathedral, as this is where you can climb the cupola and the tower for the best of views. Costing three euros the climb is not easy and there is no control on up and down...More

A beautiful and wonderous Cathedral dedicated to the Patron Saint Agatha. A must see event, and plan to spend a little more time admiring the beautiful interior and altars.

We visited the church after the Duomo. It’s a delightful small church. The 3€ entry fee to the cupola gives you a birds-eye view of the bell tower across the street (and a close-up when they ring for mass). There’s also a wonderful view of...More

Best place to start the Etna experience. Catania has plenty of magnificent buildings, and when you wish to escape of their captivity, this is the best place to go and have a view over that majesty.

It is near the Duomo, so you just can't miss it. It is worth the visit. Just enter, sit down and relax. It's a pity we didn't know we could climb in the dome.

There are beautiful views from the top of this church, which is across the street from the Catania Duomo. They charge €3 to walk up the approximately 107 stairs.

This church is located across the street from the Cathedral of Sant Agata. It is very beautiful in its own right although not as elaborate as the cathedral

A lovely church. The steps to the terrace are well maintained and there is room to pass people in the opposite direction. The last set of circular stairs are narrow, but not too long. A wonderful view of Etna. Well worth the climb B.
