...breathtaking nature forces! Lunar environment and yet so exciting and unique to experience. The dimensions of the phenomenon become real only after having seen it live.

Great trip and a must do if staying in Catania. Unfortunately foggy so view was awful from the top but hey ho. Bring warm clothes and boots or hire when there

What a fascinating day. Hardly any climbing, with bus, cable car and jeep . The guides are knowledgeable and talk good English. Learned so much, even how to predict the day's weather, about the mountain. Well worth visiting.

We booked an excellent half-day tour with EtnaPeople.com and were lucky enough to get Giulia on the phone to book our reservation and Roberto as our guide. Both were a pleasure to deal with. Giulia patiently answered our many questions about difficulty levels and equipment,...More

Used the bus tour from the central square. Interesting journey once you get beyond the outskirts of Catania. Great going out of season - take/wear warm clothing! But it meant that the place was virtually empty and we could enjoy the natural beauty of the...More

We took a private jeep tour and loved it. Our guide was the best. The stops were breathtaking and we loved our visit to the lava tubes. You must see the beautiful volcano if visiting any where near Catania.

It is a bit of a trek to get there, but once you do, it is interesting. Definitely take an organized tour so that you get more out of it such as learning about Sicily and Etna and its history. Wear comfortable but older shoes...More

I personally would not be taking a 1 yr old up Mnt Etna. It is a bumpy ride with not so much room for a pushchair or baby carrier etc. The air at the top is a bit thin and can be v cold for a youngster to cope with. Sicily... More
