I didn't know that the craters on Mt. Etna (about 7) are very open and no safety railings or fences. I had a Viator hiking tour....on the most recent crater. I wasn't ready for the cold but especially the strong wind. Some gusts nearly pushed...More

When you are on the car from Catania to Siracusa, you can see Monte Etna at least one hour just near you. You don't know how big it is, but it seems following you for an hour drive. It is worth to be on the...More

This place is stunning. From when you drive all the way up towards the volcano you can see the plumes of smoke coming out. We did a sunset guided tour which was very good and reasonably price. It does get a bit cold up there...More

We went up Mt. Etna in a stormy, rainy and misty day.We were'nt able to enjoy the views but nevertheless,i was impressed by the combination of volcanic ash end the changing colors of the leaves. A Hot soup helped us to defrost our frozen bodies

I absolutely loved touring Mount Etna. I went in October, so the leaves were turning and the combination of the volcanic ash and the eye-popping orange leaves were beautiful and unique-- I've never seen anything like it. PLEASE visit this beautiful natural wonder!

This mountain rises to a peak of 3300 metres and is stunning to view, it has snow on the top in early November when Catania is still 20 degrees. Truly beautiful, nature at its best. NOT to be missed.

Due to time restraint I only saw Etna from a distance. It looks grand and dominates the area. Looked stunning ad sun was going down when on drive from Taormina.

We drove up to the cable car station at Etna south, therefore, sorry I can not make any suggestions. However, I read the answers of other travelers for the last 12 hours which provide sufficient guidance by tour or bus.
