two words: Absolutely Gorgeous. You can hate museums, hate artworks, or unfinished fresco paintings...but you MUST visit the museum for its archictecture, which was re-fitted by Carlo Scarpa. It's definitely worth every euro you pay. I found myself staring at the ceilings, the floors, the...More

We took in the museum at the Castelvecchio in Verona (just around the corner from Piazza Bra and down the street from Piazza Erbe) one afternoon, not knowing what to expect. There are no crowds as such there, and the admission price was, if I...More

Fantastic artwork, presented in an interesting way. It appears the museum has been recently renovated. Great views of the river. Fun to walk on the terraces of the castle

If you like historical buildings, this one is for you. Situated right next to the river you are able to get a good view both from the bride towards is museo as well as from the top of the museo towards the hills surrounding Verona.

An impressive Astle stood at the entrance to the old city and on the edge of the river. Worth a visit and good views from the walls. Inside the rooms are not ornate but filled with old art which we walked past but would keep...More

Right on the water is Castelvecchio, we entered the castle museum. There were several statues and artifacts in each room, all with historic explanations. A really nice courtyard, paintings inside -and several levels. Wear good shoes there is a lot of walking and several stairs.

I visited here after a couple of disappointing visits to other places with my VeronaCard. This was also included (€6 by itself) & was much more enjoyable for me. There was a mix of weaponry, paintings, sculpture & other religious images. Entrance to the museum...More

We had never heard of Castle Vecchio before we visited Verona but it is well worth a visit. A red brick built castle and battlements with a bridge spanning the river Adige, this museum contains some early stone statues and religious artwork from the 13th...More

Lovely bridge and castle which is definitely worth a visit. Not to be confused with the other castle which can be reached via the funicular.

Beautiful castle, which many different areas. There are many art pieces in the museum, but perhaps too many for us. More of an art museum than we had thought.

I wandered in here thinking it was just an old castle, but actually it houses a superb collection of medieval and renaissance art. I knew a little about renaissance art (Bellini, Raphael, etc) – but these were artists I’d never heard of: Bernardo Strozzi, Ghirolamo...More

You can go into the grounds without paying, but not into the building or around the battlements
