Given the reputation of the Italian press, perhaps one should read the publicity leaflets for this attraction with a pinch of salt, but I walked quite a distance out of town to see an exhibition which was advertised in the tourist information office as free entry, only to find that you couldn't actually get in without handing over some Euro's!. After hanging around in an illegal smoking area for journalists while waiting for the place to open, I entered and attempted to access the museum, before being quickly apprehended by a staff member wanting money. Quite comically, there were leaflets in multiple languages on the counter in front of this person which proclaimed the attraction to be free to enter. Even after pointing this out, the person still demanded money. My advice is don't bother, it is just two small rooms with some newspaper cuttings, and you'll be out of pocket and will most likely increase your chances of getting lung cancer too. You're probably safer in the Fruit museum.

We picked up a leaflet from the tourist information centre about this museum and thought it could be interesting. What also attracted us to the museum was that it said free admission. We arrived just before it opened after walking out of town to get to it. The entrance was a bit confusing, to the right is a reception desk for the newspaper enquiries but to the left is the museum info desk. I asked the woman behind the desk at the left about entry to the museum and she said it was €3. I pointed to the leaflet which said free admission. The leaflets on her desk in several languages also said free admission. In Italian she said that the foreign leaflets were old and took them off the desk and put them in a drawer. She then pointed to a slim leaflet guide which was priced at €3. I asked in Italian if I could enter the museum without the guide to which she said yes but it was still €3! I appreciate that €3 is not a lot to pay for a museum but from what I could see it just looked like 2 small rooms and the attitude of the staff put me off visiting.
