- Peter HFredericksburg, Virginia973 contributionsVery nice train stationI must preface this review by saying that 2 years ago I had a negative experience in Verona with the train station. But, I’m very impressed at this station in Turin. The outer exterior architecture goes to the middle 1850’s and the inside has a lot of modern conveniences. As you first go in, you encounter a very elegant looking shopping mall with upscale shops and nice cafes. My train was actually very early, arriving 20 minutes ahead of schedule. All the construction modifications since 1860, really added a modern quality to the station. It’s a nice train station.Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 13 May 2023

Like the ones in Milano, Rome and other major Italian cities, they are not just transportation guns but also shopping centers. There is also a grocery store close to the tracks.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 June 2023

It was built in the 19th Century and it is a very nice building, where finish (or begin) the Via Roma, one of the main streets in the center of the city. Inside it has some bars and restaurants, typical in a train stations. From outside, you can see a very beautiful pragmatic structure.Visited November 2022Travelled soloWritten 8 July 2023
- FTMDaveAdria, Italy6,794 contributionsEasy-to-use stationTorino Porta Nuova is an elegant building in its own right. However, people go there to catch trains - and that is simple. There is a large ticket office, lots of self-service machines, clear signs to the platforms, departure board, etc. Also as in all Italian stations there are paper lists scattered around the station with all departures and arrivals listed in chronological order. The station is a lot smaller than say Milan or Rome, and unlike Milan or Rome you don't have to go through annoying barriers which only let you through a few minutes before your departure. However, being small, the platform you need only flashes up on the departure board 20 minutes or so before departure.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 30 December 2023

The "Renaissance" of Grand Magnificent Railway Stations throughout Europe delights me.
Turin - Torino Porta Nuova is another example, it's beautiful external architectural, cleaned stone of it's external works in recent times, the utilization of massive internal space use for 21st century life-style living - Joyous.
Trains - got time use them, for there designated purpose.
Milan to Turin = 42minutes at 290 kpm in comfort and smoothness - 2nd class - value for money.

The frontage of this station is stunning. It has a very large entrance hall. However, whilst it had a lovely glass dome, it was disappointing inside as I expected the inside to be as stunning as the outside. It's a very central location and has a metro, close to central tourist area, shopping, cafes and restaurants. Ignore Barry F's rant about Italian stations. All I have been to have toilets. And cafes and bars allow their facilities to be used. The Station has all the facilities that are needed.

PROVIDE PUBLIC TOILETS. The only toilets that are available need a voucher from a purchase in one of the smelly fast food chains on the first floor. It is a disgusting way of running a railway station. All Italian stations are to be avoided. All are run for profit and not the passengers. I repeat - NO PUBLIC TOILETS!

Our point of arrival to this huge & wonderful station. It is massive.
Grand walkways & pillars.
More grand than the Parliament building in most Cities.
Very clean too.
Lots of nice shops & cafes.

How early do you need to be before train?

If you know the time of your train departure, and have the tickets in hand a fifteen minute wait would be sufficient I think. The arrival of the train and platform number would be announced a few minutes beforehand. If you have not yet purchased tickets it's always best to go half an hour before as there may be queues.I usually book my tickets the day before so that I don't have to rush the next day

Are the Car Rental Agencies found within the terminal building?
Ciao a tutti! Una di queste sere dovrei prendere un treno da sola in stazione porta nuova, e volevo sapere se verso le 21.00-21.30 circa la stazione è pericolosa oppure se si può stare tranquilli. Grazie in anticipo!

Arriba !!! a caminar rápido y buen viaje !!!
