Pleasant trip and little stalls at the top. I purchased a very delicate hand made piece of lace in the shape of an M for my name.

We were on a day trip to Como so our time was limited, but we did not regret going for Volta Lighthouse using the Funicolare. While by itself it is not spectacular, it offers cheap and fast access to an totally incredible view of the...More

The ride was nice but a bit crowded. There was a viewpoint on the top offering spectacular views of the lake and the town. You can walk around, take a ride to the lighthouse, or have a drink & snack at the restaurant.

Great views and walks once at the top. While the ride is short, go early as the line ups get pretty long.

More than a way of getting up to Brunate, it is a fine experience in itself. It doesn't cost the earth and gives you access to a part of Como you wouldn't reach on foot. Some great views on the way up but the top...More

Between 1-31 October 2018, it's closed and offers a bus alternative. Open ticket up and down, with no reserved seats, but runs half hourly. Assume that Brunate is more interesting with people in it. The fact that the funicolare was being repaired meant Brunate was...More

You can walk around. There are a few shops, snack bars, and restaurants. Some small streets to explore and discover the area. People live up there. Enjoy!

Was there 2 weeks ago. My mother was on wheel chair, I had no issues getting her around. At the top, still able to push her around.

You can probably seat about 6 per carriage (maybe slightly less in front and rear carriages) and there are about 4 carriages. There is also standing room.
