They give the name to the Piazza Cavalli (Horses Place in Italian) and represents the Farnese condottieri, who rules Piacenza for centuries. Admire the Piazza and the Palazzo Gotico just on teh side.

These are two beautiful bronze statues in the central Piazza Cavalli in Piacenza. They sit on a marble base that has other bronze decorations and represent Alessandro Farnese and his son Ranuccio.

Francesco Mochi sculpted the two Farnese captains in 1612-1629. They capture the viewer's awe with beauty and potency and are considered the artist's high point of his career.
