Many of the guidebooks and online sources call Ghirlandina (little Ghirlanda) something named for the wider tower in Seville which implies that this beautiful depiction of Mary being crowned queen of heaven is located in the tower near the Duomo. NOT SO! It’s located in...More

Right off one of Modena's main shopping streets so easy to find. I gather the view from the top is not worth the effort, however the tower is eye catching from outside

3 Euros to climb up. Nice view but hard for picture opportunities. Iconic tower of the city. Cool architecture.

This was a disappointment. I have climbed many towers, and the view is not always idea, but has never been so badly blocked by metal wires and windows as here. So do not climb it for the views, you will be disappointed. On the other...More

This beautiful tower can be seen walking around the city center. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized I could climb it! It is a quick climb of 200 steps that will definitely get your heart racing. This workout felt great though, after too much...More

The tower is named Ghirlandina, which means small Ghirlanda, after the Ghirlanda tower in Seville. As you start to climb the 200 steps you come to a room with a copy of a 14th century bucket. The bucket was stolen from the Bolognese by the...More

Within a frew hundred steps you get to the top and get to see Modena from above. Shame about the windows being secured with a fairly tight mesh that does nit allow for good photos of the panorama. Informative signs tell you the history of...More

It is well worth climbing to the viewing platform of this tower; the view over the rooftops of Modena is spectacular. Unfortunately it is very difficult to take photos as the openings in the walls are covered with small-mesh grilles, presumably to keep pigeons out...More

The tower offers a nice climb and would give you a fantastic foto opportunity if the windows wouldn't be blocked by bars. I can understand they dont want people to drop objects or cameras - but thats why glass or plastic windows have been invented!

If you want to see from high stunning views of the beautiful Мodena, can climb the tower against the normal amount of input.
