With our tour group, my wife and I visited Acetaia Malpighi. Here's what I wrote in my journal: "We went first to a balsamic vinegar maker out of Modena, Acetaia Malpighi. A woman gave us an interesting talk about how they make the wine vinegar....More

Visited with my wife and our 2 young children. We all really enjoyed the knowledgeable tour given by Monica (well, maybe not the 1 year old) and highly recommend it to anyone in the area with a car. The tastings were great (we tried MANY...More

We had a personal tour in English that lasted 45 minutes and then we tasted numerous vinegars they produce. The tour is very informative on how balsamic wine and other products are produced and sold.

Maybe this started out as a factory tour, but it has devolved into a showroom tasting and sales place. Even though I asked questions, I still have no idea how the vinegar is actually aged and how the process occurs. Don't get me wrong--the "guide"...More
