A small museum but very interesting for those who love modern history, especially for those who don't forgive and don't forget the crimes made by nazism and fascism. Knowing the "small history" of the partisan movement in Bologna area is one thing. The other is...More

We happened on this place by chance and I'm so glad we did. It is only open in the afternoons from 3.30 -6.00 and on Saturday mornings. Neither of us knew much about Italy during WW2 but this museum changed that. There is a lot...More

Tells the story well, but not much information for English speaking visitors. If you are in the area worth stopping in.

Worthy of your time if you are interested in WWII history as it affected parts of Italy. The museum is small and staffed for limited hours by volunteers. The exhibits are multi-lingual and the progression of hostilities and resistance is easy to follow. We were...More

Both the reviews here and the website promised an interesting and probably moving experience. The reality, however, was quite different .. and rather disappointing. 3 rooms of wall displays of photographs of photographs, articles and documents. Captions are all in Italian. While there are cards...More

there are just four rooms in this museum, but they are worth the visit. each room offers English information factsheets, and you will get a good impression of the Partisans fight against Fascism and Nazi occupation.

This museum is a must for anyone interested in the modern history of Bologna and Italy. You can't really understand Italy if you don't understand the period 1943-1945 and the role of the resistance movement in the liberation of the country. The museum explains the...More

We were lucky enough to visit the museum in late April, around the anniversary of the Resistance activities. The staff were very warm and friendly and made sure we got the English versions of the materials. The exhibits were very well-done, thorough and informative, telling...More

Bologna has a fascinating history from the years 1943-45. Both courageous and sad. This museum captures that. Bologna is wonderful - architecture, food, music. But there can be no understanding the city without understanding the history contained in this museum, which also helps better understand...More
