My wife cooked each evening we were in Bologna and it was quite a delight in itself to pick out fruit and veg from this market. They also have fish there and a small cafe.

Visiting a local market in Bologna is a must. Although the "food tours" within the city are big business, they fall flat on thier face. Didn't waste my time over my 6 night stay in Bologna to do a city food tour and pretty happy...More

The smell of all of the fresh produce is amazing. This is a half an hour activity unless you stop for lunch The market stalls run down the centre of the hall and are predominantly fruit and veg. Then round the outside, you'll get you...More

This isn’t as big as some mercatos, but it’s interesting to walk around and experience the sights, smells and tastes. It’s also a great place to have lunch, a snack and a glass of wine. Lots of places to eat really tasty fresh food.

This place is more than just a market. It offers a wide selection of your standard fruit, veg, cheese, meats and fish but also boasts numerous eateries and great little bars in two separate food courts.

They have the most beautiful fruits and vegetables I have seen. All so nice and clean and set up to tempt you. Buy fruits, dried vegetables or have a snack in the small cafeterias around. An absolute must if you are in Bologna

Sorry we did not take a care. The city is quite small and I would expect parking might be a nightmare. We walked the whole of the city quite easily.
