This is a lovely church that is very good to visit. there is no cost to get in and it is beautiful. Closes later in the evening.

Fantastic basilica in heart of Bologna. You have to pay a few euros to take pics and they give you a wrist band. The sheer size is impressive. Too bad not finished.

Basilica is impressive, for sure. Can light a candle for free which is great. Impress construction overall. Highly recommended!

It was a beautiful and interesting church. Very nice wall-saint paintings and exhibition but you could not take photos and the employees were a bit strict with that. Also, It has very beautiful sculptures.

The major focal point of Piazza Maggiore - the Basilica. I true historical and architectural marvel in that it's facade is only half way covered in marble. Inside of the basilica is breathtaking with beautiful art throughout.

Wonderful ancient church, left only part built when the pope objected to its being bigger than St Peter's in Rome. Exterior cladding never got more than half way up. A lesson in in the hubris of absolute rulers.

We didn't get the chance appreciate the interior of this beautiful, though, unfinished church, because an officious member of staff almost had a coronary at the sight of my wife's naked shoulders! Oh well never mind!More

We really regret you couldn’t enjoy our visit to the Basilica. As you know, San Petronio first of all is a church, a place to pray, where men and women have to wear clothes suitable for the place. A kimono is available for the tourists...More
