This was a complete surprise. The interior is very different from any other Italian church and the history of conflict with dictates from the papacy is also if great interest. There is a lovely chapel that can be visited for 3 euros and taking photographs...More

Apparently this church, which was never finished, wasn't even consecrated until the 1950s. The outside is clearly unfinished, apparently because the Vatican could see that it was going to be bigger than St Peter's in Rome. Clearly the standard of work was going to be...More

This basilica dominates Piazza Maggiore, the main tourist square, so you can’t miss it. A strange exterior look stem from the fact the it was never completed. The marble coating only made the lower half. Inside there are lots of different interesting bits to look...More

You'll walk right by this on your way to the big Duomo if you come from the train station. GO IN! It's free and simply stunning. Don't miss it.

I was not so taken by the decoration or design....It is a bit of a big shed. But was is so remarkable is to think that that in the 1400's they could build a structure with such soaring heights in such a matter of fact...More

You can’t miss this basilica - the 6th largest in Europe. The chapel of the magi (€3) is incredible as is the rest of the interior. Be sure to visit the treasury with its illuminated music books.

The cathedral was not completed from the outside due to lack of funds, which also is evident in the interior. It is a nice cathedral and if you have the time or want to escape the heat outside. Pop in and find some peace and...More
