If you need a fix of art but don't have the time to trawl through the National Gallery, this is a good compromise. A former private residence of a prominent Bolognese family, this is now a collection of art and objects associated with them over...More

This museum has some very nice object but it's clear they nead a lot of attention. Paintings weren't cleaned since ages. Some stuff in museum are just not that valuable, but they could be interesting, if they were exposed in nicer, more modern way. Overall...More

Look for the two stone giants framing the main entrance. Several rooms contain an eclectic collection from tiny watch keys to portraits to coat hooks. It's free and an interesting half hour diversion and refuge from the hot street outside.

Yes there are paintings and sculpture but also ceramics, door furniture, a dolls house, household objects; a pleasant change from other more specialist collections. It's free - so no facilities - no toliet.

Bologna has so many museums that it would take weeks to visit them all. After a number of visits to the city, we recently discovered this little gem. The museum does not seem to be frequently visited by foreign tourists but is well worth a...More
