Visiting Piazza San Pietro and the whole Vatican is a must for everybody who is visiting Rome. The square should be visited minimum twice, once in daytime and once in the evening.

It’s a must go. Be careful on sunny days. For all entrances you need time. Safety checks like in airports are consequently done. Water is in plastic bottles allowed, not in glass bottles.

The square is an open area with no tickets. Feel free to move around without any charge.
