This amazing ancient monument is definitely worth a visit. Lines very long, so booking a skip the line tour is worth the extra. Restrooms adequate but also lines. Different tours grant different levels of access. Decide what view you want & book accordingly.

There really aren’t words to describe the magnificence of this amazing structure. It’s hard to comprehend that this arena was built thousands of years ago and that most of it still stands today. While you’re sure to encounter a crowd when visiting, it’s worth it...More

Visited again in Jan 2019. Got there around 9:30-10am and line wasn't bad (I imagine in the summer this would be too late). Audio guide is short but somewhat interesting. A personal guide would probably be better.

It is a must to take a guided tour and jump the queues and go to the dungeons. Amazing place to visit. Just to note it gets very cold in there.

Prepare for crowds but it is so worth it! What an amazing structure! Get your tickets on line and make sure you are in line for those who already have tickets; get Rick Steve's audio tour on your phone prior and you are good to...More

Difficult to sum up in words. Absolutely stunning architecture and so ornate inside. Quirky in as much as it has an open roof and great that entry is free.

Wow! Just walking on the outside of this structure gave me chills! We booked a tour and thank Goodness we did as the lineups to get in were quite long. When you book a tour, you get to skip the line. It's so much more...More

Hi not sure tbh but be mindful that Sunday in Italy is observed as a religious day, therefore public transport is limited. From my experience it is not reliable on Sunday so you could be waiting for a long time.

All will depend upon group tours (may have HS, college students during that time). We opted for the tour because we wanted to see some areas where a tour guide is necessary for entrance.

You’d have to check with it directly. For instance it was shut on New Year’s Day. Local holidays would have to be considered.
