An oasis of calm in the heat and busyness of Pompeii. It looks like an old church but I was surprised to learn that it’s only about 80 years old. The one thing that surprised me was the electric candles (in place of votives) which...More

You can't miss this awesome structure when arriving in Pompei, it will attract you like a magnet. Pristine preservation. You can go up the bell tower which has a lift fitted.

This is just a wonderful cathedral and well worth a detour to visit it. This is a “working cathedral” not a tourist attraction, but all the better for that.

On a follow up visit to the ruins being based this time in Maiori, I took the train from Salerno to the Pompeii Trenitalia station to access the quieter Anfiteatro entrance and the attractions at that side. It's a scenic 15 minute well signposted stroll...More

I was recommended to go to the tower and see the view after a day trip to pompei by my hotel front desk in naples. I am glad she did recommend it. The views of Mt. Vesuvius from the tower are great. Inside the church...More

The ceilings have to be seen to be believed. In front of the church is a grassy area with benches and a large fountain, a refuge on a hot day. Don't miss the 'museum' at the back of the church, which includes haunting photos of...More

You can take the Circumvesuviana to Pompei Scavi and then either walk 20 minutes into town or you take a taxi from the Circumvesuviana into Pompei town. I think the fare is about 10 Euro but check with the driver before... More

Suggestion: contact the church directly? The info is on their web site. I would not hesitate to write in English - many people in the area are very fluent.
