So glad we decided to visit this amazing cathedral. Without a doubt worth a visit, so many amazing things to see. We were lucky enough to see part of a wedding.

Check the opening times as they are closed for a few hours over lunchtime and for mass. Well worth a visit - the interior is, as usual for Italy, absolutely beautiful and ornate. It is worth paying the few euro to go into the baptistry...More

This cathedral, Gothic in design and completed in the 14th century and since then restored several times over, is the home to the Crypt and the Chapel of Naples Patron Saint, San Gennaro. Also it is where the Festival of San Gennaro, the infamous blood...More

This is a beautiful, ornate cathedral in Naples, and as has been said many times there are so many to choose from, so for religious people, those who like art and those who love architecture, there is lots to be seen. Like the rest this...More

Yes, Duomo - the cathedral - is the main church of Naples: majestic facade, impressive high columns and ornamented ceiling, nice altar and some chapels. But yet it is another big church. For me the real treasure is hidden left to the nave - there...More

As we entered the Duomo a man approached us and asked of we wanted a guide. Our default answer in "no thanks" but he (Dino) wasn't accepting that and explained that he was a volunteer and there was no charge but we were free to...More

Just like I said - just another cathedral. It definitely has nothing on domes in Milano, Venice, Florence. It is perhaps because of location - I am always impressed by architecture and views from outside, in Naples the Dome (and other cathedrals) are just jammed...More

Daughter saw it on TripAdvisor as one of the must see in Napoli.. Absolutely stunning throughout from statues to windows to organ.. Too many to mention. Loved the gentle choir playing in the background whilst showing the pope's visit on big screens and the thousands...More

An absolutely stunning cathedral, built in the 13th century, with so much to see. Beautifully decorated throughout, spectacular high altar, crypt with relics of San Gennaro (St Januarius), Treasury of San Gennaro with more bones, a Chapel of Relics (more of the poor man's bones!)...More

This was a beautiful find and the interior design was astonishing. It’s not something I expected from the modest outlook, but I was blown away by the art inside. It’s a must-see. This was my first visit to Italy. I was slightly taken aback, as...More
