I found the closer you are to the coast the cleaner and prettier the city it. There are some great things about Naples but the city is quite dirty once it is out of the touristic district.

This area of the city is nice although a bit dirty. Street cleaning appears to never ever happen. However wandering the streets and going to the small shops and churches is very fun.

There are a lot of historic buildings in Naples and this is something to see. However it is also where a lot of the young people hang out at night and it can get kind of noisy.

We went on the free tour from Piazza Dante. Very informative guide and a chance to see the parts less visited. Learnt a lot. The highlight was the 7 Mercys by Carravaggio in one of the churches on the route. The tour took about 2...More

This was my fifth time in Italy and I had never been this disgusted. The amount of dirt and garbage all over the streets of Naples is beyond gross. I wouldn't go back even if it was for free. If you care about the enviroment,...More

Just walk through the old town, for example down Via Tribunale - filled with shops and cafes.
