After reading many positive reviews about the Duomo, we tried visiting on a Sunday. The church was closed, so we were disappointed. However, we were able to view the courtyard, and it was lovely. We will go back during the week.
No one does cathedrals like Catholics! Of all the cathedrals we have seen in Italy this trip this one tops the charts. The knaves are stunning and the crypt beneath the altar will take your breath away. Don’t miss it.

This is a large and beauiful duomo. This duomo has a lovely There bell tower, mismatched columns from anicent Rome. amazing, gilded mosaics above the pulpits, and a giant crypt that is covered in marble and mosaics.
