My grandmother was addicted to zarzuela (light comic operetta) and so I pounced on the opportunity to go. I was glad I went, but need to set expectations. It was "corny" and the singing heavily miked -- more like a "farce" of the old style....More

This is a very popular theater with locals. I saw an excellent production of Juan Jose, which in my opinion is more a lyrical drama than a zarzuela, but the whole experience was very rewarding.
