We looked at the cost of doing a rock tour prior tour prior to our cruise and the cheapest we could find was about £50 each for four, so decide to take a chance and wait until we arrived there. Well there was no need to worry, after coming off the ship and into the terminal there is a booth operated by the taxi association, who teamed us up with two other couples and within minutes and we were away for £22 pounds each. The mini bus was comfortable with all eight inside. The trip included the pillars of Hercules, st Michaels caves, monkey sanctuary, and siege tunnels, from where you can also see the runway and Spanish boarder road, before dropping off next to the Main Street in the town. The driver was informative on the history etc. We did not have the best of weather, raining most of the time, but the trip was still very worthwhile. The roads can be a bit hairy, and you will find it a bit of a procession, bit when in Gibraltar it must be done, a worthwhile trip. You can get a shuttle cab back to the port for £2, or it is an easy 15 minute walk.

We used the taxi service to and from our hotel back to the airport. It wasn't a particularly long journey only about 10 minutes and £10 each way was a lot cheaper than organising a private taxi transfer that wanted about £50+ each way,

We landed in Gibraltar in the course of a cruise and decided at short notice to take a tour by taxi. There are some minibuses in the harbour for up to 8 people. We did the “Standard Rock Tour” with two other couples from the ship. For each person it costs about 45 pounds or 55 euros. Our driver asked for € 100 per couple. But this also includes the various admissions at the stops. For comparison: the ride on the gondola on “The Rock” costs 19 euros per person and then you are upstairs and haven’t seen much. On foot, all this is quite elaborate. This tour includes “Pillars of Hercules”, “St. Michaels Cave”, the “Skywalk”, the “Monkeys” and the “Great Siege Tunnels”. The end of the tour is then in the centre of Gibraltar a few hundred metres from the famous runway. We were also lucky to have a very nice driver who, as many write, was very considerate of the people walking. Nor would we have noticed a driver who had driven recklessly towards the pedestrians. We can really recommend our driver. His name is Paul and you can call and book him on 0035054000998. Paul also talked a lot during the trip about Gibraltar. We were traveling with him for almost 3 hours! The tour with Paul is highly recommended.

We are a family of 5 traveling from Norway and Mo was our driver. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, telling us all about each stop and making sure we felt comfortable and relaxed the entire trip. The monkeys were not at their usual spot, so he even took us to an extra stop to make sure we got to see them. He knows all the moneys by name and was able to let us get close to them, and even hold one that he knows well personally (this is not safe to do without him and we were sure to respect the moneys and their space the rest of the trip ☺️) We highly recommend this trip and ask for Mo if you can!!

Ben took us from the airport to Queensway Quay safely and quickly. Enjoyed his commentary of fascinating local knowledge especially driving along Line Wall road where the sea used to be. Damien at Casements Square agreed a personalised tour around the Rock including the eastern side, Europa point, Apes Den, Great Siege tunnels and World War 2 tunnels. He bought our tickets for the upper rock nature reserve area and attractions (wrist bands) for us at Pillars of Hercules (no waiting). He showed us how to walk into town catching the Moorish castle on the way down. We tailored our tour the day before and he picked us up promptly opposite our Ocean Spa Plaza apartment. Clinton also arrived promptly, in fact he was a few minutes early, helping us with our luggage across the road and loading them into his minibus in no time at all. He took us to the airport in mega quick time, and he was very polite. Pleased that all 3 minibuses were exceptionally clean.

The taxi is definitely more expensive than bus fare, but the convenience makes it worth the added expense. With a little advance planning, wait times are very short. As an added bonus, all the drivers are courteous, friendly, and helpful.

We booked a taxi tour of the rock from the kiosk at the airport. This did not live up to expectations as our driver Ronald Reece was not interested in his job. He stopped the minibus along the way we got out he didn’t explain anything about what we went to see, at the skywalk he just dropped us off and didn’t get out to explain anything about the place same at apes den he just drove past it and left us behind not like all the other taxi drivers who stopped there to explain about the monkeys . He just drove off and said meet him up the hill. Would advise anyone booking not to have him as your tour guide, wait for the next taxi.

Our cruise was rerouted to Gibraltar from Vigo due to a storm - this visit ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. In the cruise port terminal, we went to the Taxi kiosk (on the right near the front as you enter the terminal) - we were shown a map of the tour and the specific stops it would make, and it seemed to cover many of the things we hoped to see. It turned out to be a fabulous experience. The other option would have been the gondola experience, but that was closed due to the weather (and our taxi experience was probably a better option)! Our driver, Damian, has lived his life in the area and his family has a legacy in the taxi/tourism industry. He was professional, knowledgeable and personable. We saw the caves, the monkeys and learned a bit of history about the area - the tour lasted about 2 hours. Damian also recommended a local pub (Trafalgar Sports Bar), where we had lunch. Wonderful conversation there with locals and a great lunch, too!

Excellent service and tour from our taxi driver Lester. He picked us up from our cruise ship and took us to St Michael’s cave, the Pillars of Hercules, to see the Macaques and view points and then dropped us at the Botanical gardens. Lester is a fount of knowledge and gave us an informative and interesting tour all the way. We had time to see the various points of call and he was so happy to ensure we did all we wanted to in a limited time. Thoroughly recommend this way of seeing Gibraltar
