Placa Espanya is Barcelona's largest plaza and the second largest in Spain. This Magnificent plaza features a fountain with a massive sculpture at its centerpiece and two Venetian towers which flank the plaza. Truly one of the iconic sites of Barcelona. Jolly Chriss.

Lovely square - we stayed at the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya, which is a 10 minute walk. The square is buzzing. Its next to the Arena de Barcelona, which is if go to the top you get a great view of the square.

One huge plaza or placa in Catalan. The amazing magic fountain is here. The old bull ring ( Barcelona banned bullfighting) and more. Not as many cafes and more government buildings but a nice placa none the less.

One of the nicest squares in Barcelona. You find around and near by the square some beautiful constructions and monuments. The commercial center named Arena de Barcelona, which used to be a bullfighting arena, the Torres Venecianes two Venetian style towers, and some beautiful streets...More

Barcelona has several points of interest and this is certainly one not to miss as well. The two tall bell towers modeled after the ones in Venice anchor one end of the plaza. There's a large traffic circle that houses another tall monument. One red...More

Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you
enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally
translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes
recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant
atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district,
Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end
international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the
glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best
