The Tablao de Carmen pays tribute to the great flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya, born in 1913 in the gypsy quarter of Somorrostro which then existed in what is today Barcelona's Olympic Village. Carmen Amaya made her debut in 1929 before King Alfonso XII on the site which is today the Tablao de Carmen at the inauguration of Poble Espanyol de Montjuic. The Tablao offers a top quality pure flamenco show, a direct descendant of the tradition. It dynamically presents several of the most important palos or styles of flamenco so that the spectator can get to know the richness and variety of this art form. It also highlights its different forms of expression: instrumental, vocal and dance.

I had attended the Tablao de Carmen for a meal with a large group where the dining choices were restricted by a set menu format. I know that it is slightly unfair to judge a restaurant on that basis, but equally if an establishment takes...More

My three adult daughters and I saw the show last week and we had a great time! Much better and more exciting than the show we saw in Madrid. Go see this one and visit the Spanish village while you're at it.

Avoid this place , it’s a tourist trap . For the money you spend here you can have an amazing dinner in a great restaurant. The Flamenco is a joke and the food is below average . Seriously DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEYMore

Thanks for your feedback. Flamenco is the reason to be of the Tablao de Carmen and we take very seriously the quality and style of our artistic offer, with a Spanish perspective and not a touristic focused perspective. The artists and their performances are developed...More

The dancers, singers, and musicians put so much soul and energy into the dance performance. It is hard not to get emotionally involved. Very moving. Do not miss this show.
