Interesting museum about fire considering that this city (just like many in Italy) has no history whatsoever and is totally 20th century and false. Still, there are no flies coming out of it like at the vertical gardens in Delicias which seems to be more like a cemetery than a vertical garden. During the afternoons it smells of death and decay.

A Tribute to Zaragoza’s Brave Heroes

I’ve been a fan of fire engines and equipment alike since I was a child, so stumbling upon this specialty museum was a real treat, taking me back to my childhood. The collection of fire trucks and other vehicles is fantastic. The equipment and uniforms throughout the decades is wonderful to see - you can even try on some firefighter clothing! The basement houses an extensive collection of rescue equipment (fire extinguishers, pumpers, etc.) and uniforms (paramedic, smoke jumpers, water rescue, mountain rescue, helicopter rescue, etc.). Other exhibits include detailed dioramas, photos of extraordinary fires in Zaragoza, badges, hats and paraphernalia from around the world and more. The staff are absolutely welcoming, informative and engaging - all current or former members of the fire department. I was their last visitor in mid-March just prior to their closing due to the coronavirus pandemic. I hope they will safely reopen in the not-too-distant future so they can continue to welcome fire fighting fans from around the world.

Lovely place, kind personnel, great with kids

Great discovery in the centre of Zaragoza! We loved this small museum that explains the history of the city’s fire department. We, a family from Paris, were kindly received by a real, very kind french speaking fireman, that took us to a cinema with a short film on local fire fighting since 1863. After that visitors can see old fire trucks, uniforms and material up close. Our kids simply loved this visit! Vividly recommended!

One of a kind

This is a really interesting museum, full of old firefighting equipment and one can feel the difficult task that early firemen had in order to deal with fires in bulidings with access problems.
The chaps inside are helpful , it is free and worth a visit . One can do this is about 40 minutes.

Nice little museum

We visited whilst in the city to have a break from the historic monuments around. We were pleasantly surprised. We were first met by a retired fireman who took us to a cinema room and showed us some videos of firefighters in Aragon (in Spanish however they are easy to interpret) we could then roam free around the numerous vehicles and artefacts in the museum with plenty of photo opportunities. 90 minutes well spent and well worth the 10 euros for 5 of us.

Fantastic Little Museum

We came here as a group of 4 adults and 3 kids the museum is small but very good in an old firestation there are many old fire engins to look at and many things for kids to do, the staff are fantastic as they are all retired firemen who are passionate about what they do.

Great experience

I really liked how friendly the firemen(?) were at the entrance. We had a great time here, because the museum is very interacting. You can sit in the firetrucks and you can put on the firemen's uniform. So if you have children, or you have an inner child, I would definitely recommend it.

retired fire fighters greets

upon arrival you are greeted by friendly retired firemen. i must note that 'only' spanish is spoken. i am glad that i learned this language too.

a short film to be seen and then in the courtyard are old fire trucks and other equipment whereas the kiddies can climb onto.

not too big but enough to entertain the children.

5 stars - because fire engines!

We had a wonderful educational visit here. This museum is housed in an old convent and surrounds the modern, active fire station.

The ticket desk was staffed by a real fireman. He spoke only Español and directed us to the theater for a short video about the Zaragoza fire department.

The really funny part is that he was talking with Tracie and when he figured out that her comprehension of Español was (shall we say) limited he started to speak more slowly and louder.

€3.20 for 2 because this old guy (jubliado) got in for free.

Superbly presented museum well worth a visit

This museum has an audio guide in English , and lots to see and learn. There are many exhibits of old fire engines and equipment . This has been carefully annotated to allow the visitor to understand how it was used in firefighting. It is family friendly too, video at the end shows how fighting fires has become more and more efficient over time. The staff are delightful and could not be more helpful and proud of their museum .
