‘What if we get lost here?’ my daughter asked as we headed into the Albayzin. No problem I thought. It’s a great place with great atmosphere. Each little alley and road has some real gems to discover. From unusual paving stones amongst the cobbles, dramatic...More

Wander the alleyways of the Albayzín and immerse yourself in the Spain of the Moors. Tea rooms, shops and a general good feeling to be had.

The neighbourhood is an old district of Granada with many steps, so only possible on foot. Even regular streets are a bit narrow for anything more than a small car. There are some plazas with cafes, but the key attratcion is finding some with good...More

Just be careful of the taxis as the walk is long and the taxis are very fast. The views are fantastic and there are a number of spots to stop and get a bite to eat or drink.

This area is touristy but if you can avoid the crowds and drink it in, you feel like you are in a different century and a different country. Nowhere else in Spain did I feel such a Middle Eastern flavor. You also get some incredible...More

We stayed in the Albayzin and it proved to be a convenient location. I was originally worried about being up in the hills, but there were plenty of decent restaurants, convenience stores and city bused that ran every 8'. On one rainy day we had...More

Albayzin or Albaicín is an ancient neighborhood (pre-Roman) alongside of the Alhambra in Granada. We took the red bus from the Alhambra down to La Plaza Nueva to meet our tour guide little knowing what a wild ride it would be. The streets are so...More
