If you are in Puerto de Santa Maria, do not forget to visit this very nice and old part of the town, the church is very nicely detailed at the outside. Inside you will find some nice statues, altars and paintings. Very nice and cool...More

From outside it does actually look like a long used, worn out building that urgently needs renovation. On the inside the rays of sunlight coming through the colorful windows give you a complete different experience. Magical and nice...but cold and strong. Depending on where you...More

This church, built hundreds of years ago, may have been built atop an older structure [as with many other churches] dating back thousands of years - to the time of the Roman Empire. These days, it not only serves as a place of worship, but...More

We could not go in because it was a beautiful Saturday and there was a wedding taking place. Fun however to see the wedding party exit the church. However, just down the church to the right (if looking at the front), there is a small...More

The church is very large and impressive given the narrow streets surrounding it. there is no indication of it being there until one of the small streets 'spits you out' into the main square. Very similar architecture to the cathedral in Sevilla with the strange...More

I'm not really into churches, but this one is beautiful on the outside plus entrance is free. The inside is full of alcove with biblical scenes. As many have mentioned, there are a number of storks in nests on the roof. Their cracking beaks make...More

Wow this is some interior of a church. Wonderful history, creative craftmanship throughtout. Well worth a visit and the bonus is that it's free. Must admit on first seeing the exterior I thought that the place had fallen into disuse! Two pairs of nesting storks...More

We paid one euro each for entrance. The architecture was gorgeous and there are storks on the rooftop you can see from outside the church. It was great to escape the heat for a little while and enjoy the art.

The church was closed during my visit, but the outside is very interesting with beautifully carved stone facades. It was good to see storks still resident at this time of year. A really nice building.
