Amazing collection of mediaeval religious art and relics, interspersed as part of a special exhibition with African equivalents.

We didn't get to spend as long as we'd have liked in here, but thoroughly enjoyed the place never the less. Like many of the buildings on the island it was badly damaged during the war and only recently opened again. It's a truly stunning...More

Everyone who enjoys art should definitely pay a visit at this fantastic museum but you need to spend a few hours at least in order to see all the wonderful sculptures, paintings, marble statues and so on. You won't regret it! :)

This was the last museum I visited on my day on Museum Island, my husband had given up and went off for a coffee. However I was glad I persevered as the exhibits were well presented and the themes interesting.

I enjoyed the juxtaposing of African and European art. African art is getting its rightful position next to European art. European museums tend to marginalise African: not this museum. You’re your time and read the interesting comments on the similarities and differences between artwork from...More

Visited the Museum for two hours and it was not enough to see it all.(I was there from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Unfortunately they close at 6:00 p.m. I didn't knew.) €12 for one entrance or €18 for all the museums on the Island....More

The Bode has a great collection - especially the sculptures. Everything is well presented, set out and not cluttered. You can easily spend 2 hours or more enjoying the art work.

The Bode is located behind the Pergamon Museum, which itself is subject to extensive building works. An absolute jewel of an art museum, and blissfully not crowded. Well lit, well curated & the audio guide is included with the Berlin museum pass. The wooden sculptures...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The

between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

Historical sculpture and painting, the majority of which is Germanic. Focus on Gothic wood carvings, very beautiful. The renaissance and other periods are covered, it is all exceptional examples of the period.
