The tour is okay; it’s nothing special - it’s not as interactive as I would have hoped although you do get to see a few sites otherwise I would pass on this one overall

We opted for the 1 hour tour from Friedrichstraße and enjoyed a discount for our Welcome Card. The boat was clean with very acceptable toilets. During the hour we were all offered refreshments by a very busy waiter. All passengers were on the top deck in the pleasant Autumn sun. There was an informative commentary in both German and English during the tour. Unfortunately we struggled to hear a lot of it due to folk behind us being chatty and noisy. We went down to the bridge beyond the Nikolaiviertel and then back up to pass our starting point and go beyond it to the modern end on the far side of the Reichstag Building. The tour was pleasant and informative. There are lots of great photo opportunities along the way.

Highly recommend going with this company. We were on the MS "Fortuna," one of the premium ships. We chose the 3 hr. and 15 min. tour on the Spree river and Landwehrkanal through the modern and historic Berlin. Announcements about all the sights are made in German and English. We got on at the Charlottenburger Ufer (Schloss Charlottenburg area), which was the easiest location for us to reach. There was plenty of free parking in the side streets nearby (this was on a week day). There are a few other stops you can get on or off. You can also choose a shorter boat ride (for less money) depending on what you want to see during this boat ride. We stayed on the boat the entire time. The boat went underneath a lot of low bridges. In fact, you are not allowed to stand up while going under the bridges ... you can almost touch some of them with your hands when seated. There was restaurant service on the upper and lower deck. A few areas on the upper open level have small (thin) built-in plastic tables. We ordered pizza, salad, ice cream, beer, etc., which was all surprisingly good. It is a little overpriced, but was well worth it. The waiter was outstanding. Smoking is not allowed on board. Restrooms were very modern and clean. Round trip per person was 24.00 Euros for an adult and 12.00 for a child (6-14 yrs). We ordered our tickets online in advance, but they can also be purchased at the Charlottenburger Ufer ticket booth, but keep in mind that tickets could be sold out on a nice weather day. We truly enjoyed the entire boat ride. There is so much to see.

Unfortunately, what could be an enjoyable tourists atraction, this company does not know how to do it right. In general, people should understand that hospitality is as important as selling the tickets and getting people on board. Staff behind bar couldnt do even as much as making a cup off tea. Even more, this ride is nothing, that you couldnt see on your own, by public transportation. Which, by the way, is excellent.

This was an average boat tour, goes along the same route as other tours (all the boats travelled down the river in a straight line) so I suspect no different to any of the others, therefore worth doing your homework and finding the cheapest tour. This particular company charges €16 for an hour’s tour, which was expensive, and no food or drink was included. Other boat tours charge €12 for the same tour. The commentary was underwhelming, and the recording was about 30-45 secs too early as it did not align with the landmarks we were going past.
