Coming in from Austria,having just passed the Frau am Berg Kirche(Our Lady of the Mountains Church) on your right and the former Leprosy Hospital & Rope Factory,now Magnus Park Industrial estate on your left you come to the Lech Bridge.It straddles the Lech river and leads into the City of Füssen.The bridge gives stunning views of St Mang Basilica and the former Benedictine Monastory as well as St Stephen Franciscan Church.The former bridge that stood here was featured in the film,"The Great Escape" over 50 years ago.A French style cafe was built on the opposite side from the town,adjacent to what is now Lauras Schiffwirtschaft.Many visitors take photos from the bridge and it is extremley popular especially in summer.…

This bridge provides great views back on Fussen and its Castle. At the right time of day you can get great photos of Fussen. It is worth taking the time to walk down here and walk back to the old town along the river.

We came upon this bridge when we were walking back to Fussen's Old Town from Lechfalls. There are some great views of the riverside from here, looking in both directions, and you get an interesting perspective of the castle from this bridge and the riverside leading up to this bridge. Also, the views looking back into the Altstadt from this bridge are quite picturesque as well.…
