Erected by his love, Da Vinci himself, after the passing of his beloved Alfred Curer. With beautiful dread locks that Bob Marley would envy you won't be disappointed by this impressive statue. Simply Quackilicious 🦆🦆

The monument dedicated to Albrecht Durer is located in the small square of the same name which stands near his birthplace and the church of San Sebaldo, in the historic center of Nuremberg. Built in the first half of the 19th century, the monument is rather sober and consists of a simple base with an inscription and a bronze statue of the famous painter, portrayed wrapped in a large cloak while in his right hand he holds a brush and a laurel branch . If on a visual level it offers nothing particularly striking, on a historical level it takes on a certain importance, given that it appears to be the first monument dedicated to the artist to have been created.

There are many statues scattered around the historic city centre of Nuremburg including the Albrecht Dürer Monument at Albrecht-Duerer-Platz and Bergstraße.
This monument is the work of German sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch and was unveiled at this location in 1840. At that time, the square was a milk market.
Albrecht Dürer was born in Nuremburg, lived here for numerous years and executed many of his famous works within the city. He is considered one of German's most important historical artists and his works are now found in important art museums and galleries around the western world.
The bronze statue you see here reminds of his famous self portrait. Albrecht stands in a proud manner, much detail being applied to his face and flowing robes. The statue stands upon a simple stone block pedestal with the artist's name.
It is good monument of Dürer, one worth seeking out for a brief viewing before or after visiting the well preserved and restored Albrecht Durer House around 5 minutes walk from this location.

The statue is located in the city center, in the middle of a street. You can see the statue while walking up to the Castle. The statue is very close to the house of Albert Duerer and there are underground winehouse under the statue.

A monument to the most famous Nurembergian, based on a model by Christian Daniel Rauch, executed by Jacob Daniel Burgschmiet in 1840.
It's in the square also dedicated to Albrecht Dürer.
On a house in the same square a medallion with the painter portrait can also be seen.

The people of Nuremberg clearly have an affinity for their hometown hero, Albrecht Duerer, so much so that they built a statue of him in this square. While the statue is fine, it was also a useful landmark for us on multiple occasions: the Felengange (rock-cut cellar) actually goes underground here, and it's also on the way to the Duerer House and the Kaiserburg Castle.
