Big magnificent looking ancient building. It's a town hall. In the middle of the Christmas market. Catch the timing for the glockenspiel clockwork. There's a lift to go up for viewing, we did not take that.

It is in Marienplatz which is a busy square with several other tourist attractions and a shopping area. There are cafes and restaurants including one in the Rathaus itself.
