Having overnighted at the Hollental hut I waited for the first breakfast which was served at 7 - worryingly late! I should have brought my little stove to brew up and then move off at about 5. I am in my 60s and go slowly...More

Zugspitze was an unexpected delight. We went up on the Austrian side with no lines and easy parking. The views were impressive even to Coloradoans like us. Have a brat and a beer in one of the eating areas and sit and enjoy the views!

Awesome trip, easily done by train from Munich. Spent most of the day on top waling between Germany and Austria while enjoying beer and wine. On the way back stopped in Garmisch for a bite to eat. Awesome day trip, highly recommend going.

The trip to Garmisch is wonderful. Getting to the lift to Zugspitze was easy. The ride to the peak was awesome in a large and modern gondola with an incredible view. The video history presentation is worth and check out the exhibits. Good food if...More

We stayed at an airBNB our entire time in the alps and it worked out for us. There were several great options in the area.
