La Vieille Ville (old town) of Annecy is a small, well-preserved medieval town with charming bridges, colourful, pedestrian-only streets and many enticing Savoyard restaurants. Try a regional dish featuring local cheeses, such as tartiflette, raclette melted over herbed potatoes or a classic fondue. Vin chaud...More

So who the hell decided to spoil a classic French view with a load of plastic fish? Sooner that’s gone the better.

A very beautiful and picturesque town. I could walk around its pebblestone roads for hours. The places and the old buildings, as well as the river traversing through the town makes it really wonderful.

Semnoz is an excellent resource quite close to Annecy for skiing options in winter and bike / hike in the summer. Can be a little slow in winter @ the weekend but during the week and in the summer quick to / from Annecy.

Enjoy the historical centre at night. It is magical, and so beautiful. Also, stop for a crepe at one of the local small restaurants, well worth it.

We (middle-aged couple) stayed in a hotel (Les Terraces) 10 min walk from the old town and had a terrific day exploring on foot - the shops (including great foodies - spice, herbs and great confectioners), the old town following the river and canals -...More

Great place to do everything. City life, history and outdoor activities abound. Lake Annecy is great to bike around or swim and boat in. Especially exciting when the Tour de France comes nearby in July!
