We are staying in Annecy for a couple of weeks and we’re keen to spend quite a bit of time in the museum. While we read every English word, not really set up for English speakers but there is a lot more information available if...More

Worth a visit just to get a sample of the history of this prison/mint. You can get round the whole place in less than 30 minutes & have a better knowledge of Annecy.

must be the most photographed building in Annecy! A castle in the canal- once a prison. Great to take photos of this throughout different times of the day when the light is different on it.

Really the old town is quite small but wander around and take in the sights over a couple of hours and then venture into the newer town. A lovely pace to visit, get away from the shops that are just for tourists, visit a bar...More

Originally constructed in the 1100's...what more can you say? Doesn't take too long to visit and explored, be sure to check out the room that functioned as a mint. So much history right at the heart of Old Annecy.

The Palais de L’lLE is a great place with cheap entry fees 3.8 EUR. It worth the amount paid as you can learn more about the past of the old city of Annecy. The visit can last 1 hour at max.

We found it to be very intimate experience to see how prisoners lived and also the preservation of the site along with what prisoners scratched onto the walls were amazing to see. We got lost but it was a great experience.

The best way to see the beautiful town of annecy is let your feet guide you and you end up walking around this palais, nothing much but with long long history. You can’t miss it when are in annecy.
