Recently reopened, this museum dedicated to Spanish pictorial art and sculptures offers an easily accessible didactic route! a few video terminals to complete the visit, explanations at the entrance of each room to locate the works, and for a few months, the beautiful exhibition of Damien Deroubaix designed to accompany the paintings of Goya exhibited in the museum. We spent two exciting hours there.

We discovered this museum, its very beautiful collections magnificently displayed and highlighted. We were entrusted to Manon for a private guided tour. We cannot praise this young guide (intern we were told) whose comments were relevant and of a very high level.

Very interesting art museum. Sadly the gardens were closed. Some lovely artworks wish there had been Goya what did it for me though was the kindness and helpfulness of f the staff. I had a lovely conversation ,( in French) with the staff who were very helpful in indicating other places to visit in Castres.

A hidden gem in Castres, Occitanie! In a totally renovated palace created by architect Mansard of Versailles fame and gardens by Le Nôtre of same fame! Inside, a wealth of Spanish Art well organized and displayed chronologically, an excellent audio guide together with written notes in each room make your visit worth. Leave two hours to enjoy it to the maximum.

I had kept the memory of a whole gallery of Goya's Caprices which had fascinated me, and which I hoped to see again.
Even if we favored "Picasso under the eye of Goya" (in this regard, I expected to see many more works), it was not impossible to preserve these fabulous CAPRICES, justifying the name of the Museum .
But the conference on Picasso and Spain did not disappoint me!

The museum was lovely and well organized. There was quite a large collection and explanations of various works. The main downside is that it’s called the Goya museum yet I believe there were only three of Goya’s paintings there. If you’re going in July 2023 they’re going to be having a Picasso exhibition for a limited time so I feel like that will be pretty cool!

The museum has just been renovated and it is a marvel. The collections are devoted to Spanish art from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. The scenography, the lighting, everything is successful, worthy of a museum in a large capital. A great effort for a town of 45,000 inhabitants. The building is designed by Mansart, the architect of Versailles.

A beautiful collection of works of Spanish art, notably by F. Goya and P. Picasso. A pleasant time spent in this museum, but as is often too short. There is more than interest in getting a pass.
We were privileged with a private guide. Thank you, Lucy.

Metamorphosis and he needed it, for a long time
well enlarged, well adapted lighting, however the little comments written on each canvas, are really small and you almost have to get on your knees
At the entrance to the rooms, fortunately, there are large, clearly legible posters.
magnificent paintings
