We chose Porte Maillot Metro. Bad idea. That whole area is completely torn up for the new tramway extension in advance of ‘24 Olympics. Porte Dauphine much better with just a bit of detouring. We are inveterate walkers and were tired by end of day.
Parc’s famous formal rose garden was being carefully groomed for the rose expo this weekend, June 3-4. A nice selection of roses blooming there but nowhere near the height I had expected. The chateau itself closed off in the midst of a major remodel, the rest of the grounds as beautiful as ever. Peonies & irises especially.
And can you beat the price of entry? Almost free, but not quite! Modest numbers of guests present. Tourist hordes absent, perhaps because public transit doesn’t take you to the doorstep.

The park de Bagatelle is part of the Bois de Boulogne, known to everyone from childhood through the works of the writer A. Dumas - the father, the "Three Musketeers", and so on. It is one of the four sites of the City of Paris Botanical Gardens, was home to several horticultural and botanical collections over the years, and now stretches out over 25 hectares.
Getting there? Hmmm... Get off at the metro station Pont de Neuilly and now think - walk for 20-25 minutes to the park or take an Uber. We took an Uber, which cost us 8-9 euros one way (and also went back to the metro). Our decision saved us energy for a long walk in the park, which took at least 3 hours to visit.
Park is gorgeous, well-groomed, with a variety of flora for every taste, here you feel not only the beauty of nature, but also peace and quiet away from the hectic Parisian streets. You are on the outskirts of the city, next to a real wild forest. Many proud and beautiful peacocks come straight to you without fear, hedgehogs and rabbits, wondrous singing birds, unusual trees all over the world and, of course, roses, roses, roses...
Bagatelle park has two rose gardens: the landscape rose garden and the classic one. Created between 1905 and 1907 on an old equestrian arena, 43 turfed flowerbeds bordered with boxwood bring together the most beautiful varieties of rosebushes in all of their forms: rose bushes, shrub roses, climbing and rambling roses trained on arbours an pylons. And of course it is impossible to resist to breathe in the aroma of each of them...beauty and inspiration....By the way, at the entrance to the park, we were charged 2.50 euros for a visit. The park is open daily from 9-30 am to 8 pm (hours are shorter in the winter season).

This is a corner of Bois de Boulogne, famous for the roses. So come here in June when all are in bloom. Bt it is lovely any time of the year as it is groomed and well-tended. It is possible to get here by a bus.

We arrived a bit after the height of the rose bloom, which is June. This lovely park is full of roses. We were energetic and came here on a combo of Metro and bus, easily done.

This is a beautiful corner of the Boulogne Park, notable for the massive and perfect rose gardens. So come in the spring when they are in bloom. Do some research as to which bus to take from the Metro, otherwise you have to walk about 30 minutes or take a cab. It's just lovely.

We crossed the park walking from the Jardin de L'acclimatation to the Parc des Princes, so my son could go to the Paris Saint Germain store located beside the stadium.
The park is huge, not just a morning walk. There are several attractions to see, such as the Fundation Louis Vitton and the Rolan Garros Stadium.
Also, the park is beautiful with its lakes, little trails and very unique vegetation. I suggest that, if you can visit the park every time you visit Paris. Aham...a dream right?!

We did not come here at the best season. You should visit around June when the roses are at their peak. But still the vast gardens are impressive although a bit challenging to get to by public transit. Do your research on buses.

As usual a really nice park even during the winter. Nice sight seeing, nice break outside of Paris, close to Porte Maillot in the Bois de Boulogne.
Fantastic for running, nice for kids... a beautiful place to discover when in town.

We were here in the fall, but the best time to visit is the spring when the roses are in bloom. So plan for June. Access by public transit is a bit difficult, but plan and you will get here.

I was staying in Neuilly-sur-Seine near the Pont du Neuilly metro stop and decided to walk over to the Parc for the am. It took about 40 minutes to walk over, but was definitely worth the visit. The rose garden was beautiful and the gardeners were on site at the time. The area near the pavilion near the rose garden with mixed gardens was absolutely stunning. Near the entrance I encountered baby peacocks with peahens.
Near the waterfall area, I came upon many Canadian geese. Be cautious and always give geese plenty of space. Overall, a wonderfully beautiful place to visit while in Paris.

Nearest Metro and then taxi to get Rose Garden Bagatelle. Is that easiest?
Many thanks,
