Well chosen selection of local wines at exceptionally low prices. Beautiful surroundings, relaxed and cool in the hot weather. A unique place if wine is your main interest.

Such a great recommendation by a fellow wine lover. Friendly service, reasonable prices, great space - a really perfect spot to taste Bordeaux in an air- conditioned environment in the centre of this wine city. Delicious foie gras paired with the sommelier’s suggestion - when in France….

Go early when they are not busy (before 4 or 5) and you will get the best wine advice about your selections outside of a formal school. Aurel was fabulous and he and the staff hand pick local wines to taste. The pours are standard although you can get half pours. The prices are more than reasonable. This is a comfortable place complete with couches if you desire. The meats, cheeses and breads are outstanding as well. We went 3 of 4 days while we were there and couldn't have been happier with the place. Be careful as they get jammed on Friday and Saturday nights. They are located across the street from the Tourist Information Service and across the street from the local train transfer station.

Great bar for trying plenty of different wines for not too expensive. Great ambiance and awesome service. Our server was Guillemin and he was very nice, helpful, and knowledgable. I recommend this place for sure!

Great place for a glass of wine. The staff is really nice, they explain you every detail, and provide good advices. The place is calm and well decorated. Close to Place de Quincoces. We repeated. I recommend it for sure. Not an expensive place.

Excellent prices to try a range of Bordeaux wines, and the bartenders were helpful. It is an interesting venue. Note that it was very busy in August, and we had to wait in line to get into the bar.

We became fixtures in this establishment during our recent trip to Bordeaux. It was recommended by Jonathon during our wine trip to Saint Emillion. No queues during off season. Top class wine from 2 to 5 Euro a glass. We worked our way through their list and all wine was top quality. We also sampled their charcuterie and cheese boards which were also top quality and reasonably priced. Service was prompt and pleasant. It’s a very informal place to pop in whilst exploring Bordeaux. We met again many of our fellow walking and wine tour group members here! Its central location opposite the tourist office makes it an ideal rendezvous point whilst exploring Bordeaux. We’re already missing our Bar a vin experience back in rainy Ireland. Our first stop next time we visit Bordeaux.

We were recommended to this place by our guide on the wine tour (which is also a great day if you like wine). It seems to be subsidised by the wine trade so you can enjoy some lovely wines by the glass and the waiters are really helpful and nice.

Bordeaux is famous for wine but mostly tourists book expensive wine tours out to the St Emilion area. This is a great thing to do , if you can afford it. We were lucky enough to be shown that area by a french friend, so when this School of Wine came up on my Google search, I went looking and foubd an amazing selection of wines, tasty food to match and educated Sommeliers who made us feel very welcome, TWICE. Well done and Thankyou.
