The Anvil is one of Hampshire’s largest entertainment venues and offers a wide range of entertainment for all ages including stand-up comedy, theatre, ballet & opera, classical music, pop concerts and pantomime. This year we’ve welcomed top class performers including Lee Evans, Boy George and Billy Ocean and also had the pleasure of hosting one-off events such as the last UK concert appearance of the great pianist Alfred Brendel.

We went to see Jimmy Carr perform in November here and It was a really good theatre, comfortable, well lit and maintained and we could see everything despite being quite far back. I would definitely recommend going here to see a performance

Love attending concerts and shows at the Anvil. They attract an excellent calibre of entertainer and have a variety of acts from dancers, to bands, singers, comedians and orchestras. Great pantomime at Christmas. Easy to park. Great facility for Basingstoke

Visited The Anvil for a music concert. This is great, fairly modern venue which means the sound quality is good and you get a good view of the stage wherever you are seated. Lots of toilets (that flush) and a nice, reasonably priced bar area....More

We went to see "The Musical Box" Genesis tribute band. I had left it rather late get tickets so had seats to one side of the circle. Visibility was great, the rows are fairly well stepped which meant our view wasn't obstructed by the people...More

Good hall with excellent sound. The classical concerts there are wondrous and much cheaper than going up to London. Good bar can buy sandwiches and ice cream but no restaurant or cafe
