About
A Dublin institution that dates back to 1840, the Temple Bar is a traditional pub offering a good showcase of Irish culture. The pub hosts daily live music sessions, alongside over 450 different kinds of whiskeys—making up Ireland’s largest whisky collection. Relax with a drink, and take a photo with the bronze James Joyce statue. The bar can get very crowded; visit on weekdays for a more peaceful experience, or before 9.30 p.m. to snag a good table. Get to the bar via the hop-on-hop-off bus, learn more on a tour with a private guide, or join a pub crawl. – Tripadvisor

    Brilliant venue
Great atmosphere, scenery etc. a bit like a maze/tardis and a spectacular sight. Staff all friendly and great live music. Reason it gets a lower rating as nearly 10 euro for a pint of Guinness is nothing short of robbery - no need for it to be that expensive.

    Great atmosphere
First visit, wanted to see whats the hype about. The atmosphere was great with Live music. Friendly staff and quick service. Drinks way overpriced. Very busy with people taking every inch of space, can get claustrophobic and smelly.

    Overall good.
Good atmosphere, quality acoustic tunes, and some good craic. Only negative is that after your last mouthful of food, or last sip of your current pint, multiple staff are fighting to take away your plate or left overs. It is borderline rude, and quite pushy. If they brushed up on bar etiquette, despite the price, it would be 5 star for the overall experience.

    Incredible atmosphere and LIVE music
We visited this pub early morning as part of a day trip to Dublin and we were not disappointed! We arrived just before 11am and as the pub opens at 10:30, it wasn't particularly busy so we had an amazing seat right next to the stage where were were able to enjoy some LIVE music. The Guinness was quite disappointing but the atmosphere makes up for the lack of taste in the beers. The staff were extremely attentive. I will be returning

A must see when visiting Dublin : all day live music and a great atmosphere
Temple Bar is not just a bar it’s a whole street full of bars and restaurants alive and full of people all day long ! But THE temple bar where it all started is definitely a Must-See when visiting Dublin. You can visit it at anytime of the day and you will enjoy live music and a unique atmosphere in a unique place. With or without a Guinness in your hand 😋

    Amazing atmosphere
What an experience. We found it too busy on the Friday evening so we went back during the day on Sunday. A lovely atmosphere and so much to look at inside. Worth having a drink there. Not as expensive as I was told. €8 euro a pint.

    Temple Bar
Iconic old Irish pub. Great Irish music. Insanely crowded. We got there about 4 pm and were just able to get two seats in the outer bar, next to the main bar and stage. We could hear the music and see the musicians. By 7pm every room there was shoulder to shoulder and it was difficult to move. If you’re going, get there early.

A must for a Dublin visit
An absolute must if you visit Dublin, but be sure to go after 8pm. The bar is packed full of character (and people) and the live music never fails to entertain. The drinks are varied and very tasty. A really good night out for couples or groups.

You’ve got to go for the experience!
On a short break in Dublin in December 2022, we had passed The Temple Bar pub many times. Outside was always crowded with people (including us) taking photos of the fantastic Christmas lights covering the building. We decided we wouldn’t bother going in as it was obviously a huge tourist attraction. However, on our last day, we got over ourselves and went in; so glad we did. An amazing atmosphere with live music. Found ourselves a small table and wondered how to order given it was so busy. There was a QR code on the table, ordered via the app and within minutes our drinks arrived - brilliant friendly staff. Stayed for a few more because it was so easy to order and the atmosphere was fab. Would thoroughly recommend a visit (or two!)

    33 Red
Almost every adult visits The Temple Bar Pub when visiting Dublin. So did my two nephews and I (yes, they were adults). One nephew and I had a Harp, the other a Guinness. While it is fun to visit the Pub, the cost of three pints was over $33 USD, before tip. A similar bar in New Orleans, world-famous, would not have charged so much for beers. Fun visit, yes. Overpriced, yes. PS, it seems that every bar in the Temple Bar area calls itself a Temple Bar. Look for the red bar.

Everything ok, but while eating they wanted to clear our table so we would make another order or go. Live music was great, people taking pictures inside and outside all the time. Beer and cheese plate good. But it was a must see for the first time in Dublin.

Heard a few horror stories about this place, about prices rising the longer you are in and it being horrendously expensive. However this was not our experience. We went in at night time and day time and the only downside is how busy it is. But we got drinks and sat at a table with strangers and ended up chatting for ages.
Drinks are average price for the Temple Bar area.
Live music was fantastic and the atmosphere really good.
Definitely worth at least a pint in there.

So, pretty disappointed here have to admit. We were waiting for our pints for 15 minutes because server probably forgot to ring them in and her justification was that keg is being changed, while table next to us who came there way after us had their pints delivered right away. Furthermore, the price of a pint is €8.95, and we were charged €9.95. A bill was also not provided, just the payment confirmation. I always leave gratuity, when deserved. This was not the case so if I had a chance I would not leave it.

You visit Dublin, and you must visit the Temple Bar area. And then you must visit the Temple Bar Pub. Busy pub this is, and somewhat cramped at times. Lots of historic things to look at. Nice music pretty much all day. But the prices of the drinks just ruins the experience. Sooooo expensive! Eye wateringly expensive. And then the staff bills ask for tips. Maybe worth visiting for 1 drink and move on. Or maybe just take a photo outside and move on to the many not so expensive bars within a few minutes walk from here. It’s a nice pub. But the cost of drinks do not justify the visit.

An amazing afternoon in the Temple bar. Great Atmosphere, Entertainment, very busy bar in the temple bar area. A must if you go to Dublin. We went as a couple ,you are going to pay 9, 10 euros for a beer anywhere in the temple bar area. But what you get is a packed bar with entertainment all the time the bar is open we had a great afternoon. all the staff are really friendly and don’t worry about standing at one of the bars to get a drink plenty of staff walking around to take your orders and bring your drinks to you. Definitely my new favourite bar and the first place I will go when I’m next in Dublin.

Lovely experience in the world famous bar with great music. The coice of whiskies is amazing. A little too touristy for me as you can see that the bar overcompesates on its fame with beer prices inflated by up to 25% over its rivals. Expect to pay for the pleasure.

Busy VERY busy, but great atmosphere, no fighting, lots of pushing but everyone understands that.
Live music is amazing, gets everyone singing and just a great time.
Price is what you would expect for a city.
The bar staff walking around are the best and deserve every penny they are paid.
