About
Located in Dublin’s historic Liberties, Pearse Lyons Distillery, Dublin’s only boutique distillery, is a five-minute walk from The Guinness Storehouse. Nestled in the former Church of St. James, this distillery has a colourful history dating back to the 12 Century. On tour of the distillery and surrounding graveyard, guests are introduced to the compelling characters from Dublin’s famous distilling and brewing district. This district, rich in culture and tradition, was once a place of booming industry known as The Golden Triangle. The Pearse Lyons Distillery produces some of Ireland’s finest small batch Irish whiskies and celebrates the Irish tradition of storytelling on each guided tour. Guests enjoy a sensory experience as they are brought through the distilling process, before enjoying whiskey and gin tastings at our tasting bar. All booklets, interactives and welcome video are translated in seven languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Portuguese)

- Nicholas M1 contributionTake This TourSheila and David provided a fantastic experience blending history and whiskey education. I would highly recommend anyone take this tour and hope you get both of them leading it for you. The whiskey and the gin were fantastic as well!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 March 2023
- Roving145425796131 contributionExcellent whiskey tour worth the timeA wonderful tour. I enjoyed learning the history of the distillery and it's founder as well as the process of distilling. It's a very personable tour thanks to our guide Andrew. You can touch and smell a lot of the stages of the product and I would recommend getting the full tasting "legacy" option. Very glad I went and my only request is to sell the shot glasses as I wished they were on sale when I went. This distillery is easily accessible via the tour buses.Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 29 June 2023
- Noel D1 contributionA must do in Dublin! We had the Cocktail Makers Class this afternoon with Kaitlyn. We were fortunate to be their first class in their newly renovated bar space! The bar was extremely nice and clean! Kaitlyn had everything set out that we would need for our class and was very welcoming! The class was such a fun experience and I learned so much from it! Kaitlyn was a great instructor and very personable! She was very knowledgeable and made us cocktail making novices feel very much at ease! This class is definitely one of the top experiences we had while in Ireland!Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 September 2023
- DanandKayMelrose, Wisconsin234 contributionsBoutique DistilleryThis one is unique and definitely worth a visit. They don’t make thousands of bottles annually, but stick to their roots of sustainability and quality. Everything is created at the one unique church location. We had a fine tour led by Kaitlyn. She was wonderful…knowledgeable and extremely professional. While the whiskey was good, I was totally surprised by the rhubarb gin. What a wonderful byproduct. I highly encourage your visit. It’s a nice complement to Jameson and Teeling tours…much more personal!!!!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 October 2023
- Cath W4 contributionsA great whiskey tourSheila was a marvellous guide and very knowledgeable. The tour was very interesting and also the history and restoration of the church. The whiskey tasting was informative and has created an appreciation of the different whiskeys and the whiskey making process.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 November 2023

Went on the legacy tour, and whilst I was interested in the whiskey, the building and storytelling blew me away.
The history and labour of love to create the distillery are a true labour of love, and it gave a really unique element to the tour.
The whiskey? It was fantastic with my favourite being Ha'penny 4 cask.
It will take one hell of a distillery to provide a better experience than Pearse Lyons.

Beautiful distillery and property. The history of the former St. James Church and its evolution into a modern distillery was fascinating.

The distillery is built into a beautiful old church with so much character. The real highlight of the tour however was our guide Sheila was so lovely and had answers to just about every one of our questions. Also got to try 4 different samples of the whiskey which is good value in itself for price of tour.

We had an amazing visit at Pearse Lyons ! The tour guide, Hubert (a VIP one, he is the Operations Manager), was very kind and provided the visit in French since we were a very big group of French people, including children ! We had stunning anecdotes, historically and product-wise. Hubert was very patient and took the time to make a great tasting a give us very interesting insights about the distillery. I highly recommend the tour. The products are also superb!

Dear Pearse Lyons Distillery, Question about your two product, Founder’s Choice, it is said is a 12-year-old Single Malt aged in ex-Bourbon barrels from our sister distillery, Town Branch Distillery in Lexington Kentucky, but for the Pearse Five-Year-Old Single Malt, it is said It was the first five-year age statement Irish Whiskey to appear from a new distillery in the whole of Ireland in more than 25 years. Does it mean the Founder's Choice is not made in Ireland? or the Whiskey is not made by Pearse Lyons ?

I am very interested in the tour/tasting, but my traveling companion does not like whiskey. However, she would love to tag along on the tour. Is there a tour without the tasting? If so, how much?
